Simple Thoughts For A Complicated Man...Social Sensitivity
The world is a sensitive place...Why wouldn't it be with all the global warming and child predators out there...When do we take our sensitivity too far?

Look around at the world and yourselves for a moment. No one takes a comment or a joke with the grain of salt anymore. There is always someone jumping at the opportunity to oppose a comment or a joke for either publicity or money. Ask yourself, what’s the difference between a black comedian who not only drops the “N bomb” in his routine, but makes derogatory jokes about white people and a white comedian who does the same? There is a HUGE difference.
People like Don Imus, The Dog House, and even Bill Cosby were thrown under the politically correct bus because of racial comments by public leaders like Al Sharpton and Reverend Jackson. Al Shapton is a man who will, and has, publicly incited hate and aggression between races. Yet, he claims all he wants is racial equality. He promotes racial equality the same way the Ku Klux Klan and the Arian Brotherhood does. Where was he after Crystal Magnum admitted she lied about being raped by the Duke lacrosse team? He was fighting for her until she was honest. When the truth came out, he disappeared without an apology of any sort. The same way he cowered away from the Crown Heights Riot in 1991 that he, himself, incited. Reverend Sharpton’s only claim to fame is breeding hatred and controversy. Are these the people we are going to let dictate what we find appropriate?
Howard Stern frequently had a leader of the KKK on his show. As the man spewed disgusting rants about African Americans, Robin Quivers (Stern’s black co-host) sat there and laughed at every one of his comments and even tried to provoke more of these comments for added humor. In 1975, Saturday Night Live aired what is considered one of the funniest SNL skits of all time. The skit features Richard Pryor and Chevy Chase at a job interview. They engage in a “racism word association” battle. It was offensive to both whites and blacks, going as far to drop the “N bomb” on national TV, and the audience couldn’t have laughed harder. I am sure there were people that found it offensive on both sides of the fence, but they took it how it was meant to be taken…a joke. What has changed from then to now? Why are we in such a different state of mind as a society 34 years later?
Who dictates political correctness? We do! Open your eyes and realize that we control what is offensive. We are so caught up with these social and political leaders that we take their word and opinion as if it’s gold. Realize that they are human too, made of flesh, bone, and emotion, same as you and I. Stop letting people like that dictate what you should take offense to. Realize that by listening and getting caught up in this “sensitivity battle” we are forfeiting our right as Americans to our Fist Amendment. Freedom of Speech is no longer a freedom. We are so worried about what we say and who it is going to offend that we are no longer “free to speak”. A joke is defined as “something that is amusing or ridiculous, esp. because of being ludicrously inadequate or a sham”. Think about any joke that you have heard that you found funny, who did it offend? In any funny joke there is a line that is always going to be crossed and someone always left offended.
I am not advocating what Don Imus said, but just suggesting the same thing our mothers told us when we were made fun of in school…”Let it roll off your shoulders”. Take a joke as a joke and exercise your right to Freedom of Speech. Whether your black, white, purple, Chinese, Spanish, or Bull-Shittenese, don’t let other peoples opinions effect your sense of humor and your sensitivity. Do not let comments of hate bring you down to a similar level and “turn the other cheek”… Right Reverend Sharpton and Reverend Jackson?

it's ironic that the people who try to defend free speech often destroy it by determining what we can and can't say..they'll fight for the civil rights of people who abuse children and protest when you say the word retard in a movie
you know what Phil I'm convinced,,lets do more rape jokes gang!
