Here are some things that make America great and embarassed of itself; together at last.

Freedom:

Freedom in this country is a curse and a gift. Freedom allows us to live and co-exist with the option to do anything our hearts desire. On the other hand; Freedom allows us to live and co-exist with the option to do anything our hearts desire. This could mean anything from buying a swimming pool full of Jell-O to taking a sawed-off shotgun to your mom's head. But then when you really get right down to it, are we really free?

I understand that for every action there is a consequence, but if we only allow freedom for some and deny freedom to others(albeit based on how unsavory and deadly their actions may be) does this mean that we are in fact "free"? I'd call it free within reason. That may be good enough for some; but when we still live in a society where a child molester and a drug dealer get the same jail sentence, it ain't good enough for me.

Go ahead. Take a chance, America. Release all of the prisioners. Give everyone TRUE freedom. See how long we last. We as a society, I regret to inform you, are just too fucking stupid and irresponsible to handle TRUE freedom. I enjoy the partial freedom we enjoy now. But I just don't like that it gets confused with TRUE freedom. I'll be the first person to admit that we'd all be fucked if we had TRUE freedom.

Politicians:

Republicans, Democrats, it doesn't matter. Why? Because the truth is that none of them care about you. From John McCain to Barack Obama and every kickbacked, laidback, overpaid, underutilizede, fucked-up, brought-down, retired, fired, admired, married, divorced, gay, straight, closet-case, open-book, bleeding-heart Liberal and Right-wing conspiritor there is. NO ONE UP IN WASHINGTON FUCKING CARES ABOUT YOU!!

Do you honestly think that congress cares what you think, want, or need? All they care about is how they can up tax-cuts for the wealthiest Americans(code for, themselves) as well as making sure that we maintain just the right level of chaos in this country so that they can manage the smallest aspect of it and say they were at least making an effort.

Drugs:

Now, let's be clear. I do not drink or do drugs. I'm as straight-edged as they come. But i'm certainly not one to bitch and moan to people about them doing drugs. To be honest, I don't really care. I've seen people who smoke weed and have no problem controlling themselves. I've also seen people do drugs and ruin their lives.

Drugs are like any other vice. If alcohol is legal, then I feel that most drugs should be legal. If people can fuck-up their lives with beer or cigarettes, then who's to say that they can't do the same with other drugs?

As I mentioned earlier, it amazes me that, in this country, a child predator can get the same jail sentence as a drug dealer or user. One vice makes you eat cookie-dough and fall asleep, the other is pretty much child-rape. You be the judge.
