What is manliness? Are you manly? Probably not, unless you're the woman I Slept with in Vegas...

What does it mean to be a man?

Greetings Valtrex Users,

I was watching ESPN the other night and I caught a game of bowling. Now this large crowd of people was gathered to watch men throw a heavy ball down an alley into these objects that resemble the creatures that eat my parents in a recurring nightmare I've been having. I think the laymen term for these creatures is "pins". Even if it is the laziest, it is still in fact a sport, and there are jocks and even female fans. You do not need brute strength. There is no contact whatsoever. So I put this to you. Is bowling manly. And if so why or why not? I feel there should be contact between men in sports. Whoa, I mean, completely heterosexual contact. Like punching and licking, I mean kicking. I see football, hockey and even the less popular soccer as manly sports. Theres kicking and punching and throat slashing...I mean just good ol fashioned Americana.

I see myself as somewhat manly. I scratch my genitals in public. I pee on women I deem my property, and I even beat random men with bits of wood. Though I fit the form of the traditional caveman, many men feel other things make them manly. Excessive tanning, steroid use, wearing jewelry like they're trying to blind someone are just some things we see today as making a man "manly".

These days the meaning of a real man is severely skewed. I see grown men walking pomeranians and yorkies. What ever happened to men walking great danes or hyenas?! What happened to the good old days when men spoke and women listened while cooking? (Just kidding ladies) To me, being a manly man is simple. You obtain great strength. Find a gorgeous woman to be your mate, Buy a hyena, and finally...Walk around with said Hyena with your genitals hanging from your pants. Only then will you be truly manly.

Love always,

Sham the McGyptian

IRONIC NOTE: I bought a Hyena and it killed my girlfriend and shortly after, bit one of my testicles off...so you might wanna consider a pomeranian.

soccer isn't a less popular sport in general, just in the United States it is. and to answer your question, yes i think bowling could be deemed a manly sport. just because there is no physical contact doesn't mean it couldn't be manly. what about golf? no contact there but plenty of men play it. tennis? well, that may be girly but andre agassi sure is one hell of a player.

Lol my apologies, I should have specified. I am a life long soccer player and you're right its popularity here hasn't quite caught on, but in the world it's like the Michael Jackson of sports...wait bad example, Like the Latoya jackson of sports. No but seriously it is popular, and as for bowling that's a stab at my friend whom if it wasn't for bowling, his ass would be attatched to his couch. Sorry for the confusion! lol appreciate you readin the blog, that makes...1 reader! YES!

If BaseBall the " American Pass Time" is considered manly, then so should bowling. It's just as, if not more physically demanding. Plus we all know that baseball is a sport for people who's parents wouldn't let play real sports when they were kids.
